Butterbur is a flowering perennial plant belonging to the sunflower family with Asian origins, and it is renowned for its many health benefits.
The active chemical compound responsible for the herb’s attributes is a type of sesquiterpene called petasin. It is very important when selecting a product containing butterbur to make sure that the raw material used is free of chemicals called pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA’s).
The butterbur extract used in Dr. Tobias LungMeister provides a minimum of 15% petasins and is guaranteed to be PA-free.
